Description: Our client was concerned about the condition of their timber flooring, which had suffered from deep scratches and pet urine stains. Their beloved dog had repeatedly peed on the hardwood floors, leaving behind stubborn stains and discoloration. Over time, the urine had penetrated the wood, creating unsightly dark patches and causing unpleasant odors. Removing pet urine on a wooden floor can be challenging, especially when it has soaked deep into the timber. Unfortunately, in cases where dog pee on hardwood floors has stained the wood deeply, complete removal is only possible by replacing the affected boards. However, our client preferred a restoration approach that did not involve replacing any floorboards.
To tackle the problem, we carefully sanded the entire floor and staircase to strip away the worn and damaged surface. The sanding process effectively minimised the appearance of scratches and helped reduce the visibility of the pet urine stains. We then filled any nail holes and minor imperfections before applying multiple coats of premium polish. The finishing touch was a high-quality water satin finish, which enhanced the natural beauty of the wood while providing a protective layer against future wear and tear.
The final result was stunning—the floor looked refreshed, smooth, and beautifully restored. While deep-set stains from dog pee on hardwood floors can be challenging to remove entirely, our sanding and polishing process significantly improved the overall appearance, giving the client a much cleaner and revitalised floor. If you’re dealing with similar issues and need expert advice on removing pet urine on wooden floors, our team is ready to help restore your timber flooring to its best condition.
