Our client’s 60m² home was covered with old, worn-out carpet, and she was eager to restore the beauty of the timber floor hidden beneath. She reached out to us to remove the carpet and polish the floorboards, transforming the space with a fresh and elegant finish.
The first step was carefully ripping out the old carpet and disposing of it. Underneath, we found adhesive residue and minor surface damage, which is common when removing carpet that has been in place for many years. We then thoroughly cleaned off the glue and prepared the timber for sanding.
Sanding is a crucial stage in reviving floorboards. We sanded the surface back to its natural grain colour, ensuring a smooth and even texture. Any visible nail holes and minor imperfections were filled to create a flawless base before the final finishing process.
Over the next four days, we applied two coats of a stain finish to bring out the natural warmth of the timber. This not only enhanced the wood’s colour and depth but also provided a durable, long-lasting protective layer.
The end result was a stunning transformation—rich, polished floorboards that added character and elegance to the home. If you’re considering the cost to remove carpet and polish floorboards, it’s an investment that not only enhances the beauty of your space but also increases the value of your property.
